REVELATION 1 Pg 3

 

1:12  And      

            [1]  I turned

[a.] to see the voice that spake with me. And

            [2] being turned, I saw

[a.] seven golden candlesticks [lampstands];

 1:13  And

            [3] in the midst of the seven candlesticks

[a.] [I saw one] like unto the Son of man,                                 

[11.] clothed with a garment down to the foot, and

                                    [12.] girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

 1:14                           [13.] His head and [his] hairs [were] white like wool,

                                                [aa.] as white as snow; and             

                                    [14.] his eyes [were] as a flame of fire;

 1:15  And                  [15.] his feet like unto fine brass,

                                                [aa.] as if they burned in a furnace; and

                                    [16.] his voice as the sound of many waters.

 1:16  And                  [17.] he had in his right hand seven stars: and

[18.] out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword [the word of God]: and

                                    [19.] his countenance [was] as the sun shineth in his strength.

 

 1:17  And when I saw him,

            [1] I fell at his feet as dead [John was slain in the spirit]. And

            [2] he laid his right hand upon me,

                        [a.] saying unto me,

                                    [11.] Fear not;

                                    [12.] I am

                                                [aa.] the first and

                                                [bb.] the last:

 1:18                                       [cc.] I [am] he that liveth,

                                                            [111.] and was dead; and,

                                    [13.] behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and

                                    [14.] [I] have

                                                [aa.] the keys of hell [the authority over hell and death] and

                                                [bb.] [the keys] of death.

 

The key to understanding the book of Revelation

 

 1:19  Write

            [1] the things  

                        [a.] which thou hast seen [a vision of the glorified Jesus: Chapter 1], and

            [2] the things 

                        [b.] which are [historical facts in John's day: Chapters 2 and 3], and

            [3] the things  

                        [c.] which shall be hereafter [the prophecy of this Book: Chapters 4 through 22];

 

The mystery revealed  

 1:20  The mystery of

            [1] the seven stars

                        [a.] which thou sawest 

                                    [11] in my right hand, and

            [2] the seven golden candlesticks [lampstands].

The seven stars are

            [11.] the angels  [messengers or pastors (Rev. 1:1)] 

                        [aa.] of the seven churches: and 

            [12.] the seven candlesticks [lampstands] 

                        [aa.] which thou sawest are

                                    [111.] the seven churches
