REVELATION 16

Judgment executed by human agents

Rev. 16:1  And I heard

            [1] a great voice

[a.] out of the temple [the voice of the Father (Rev. 16:17)]

[11.] saying to the seven angels [messengers],

                                                [aa.] Go your ways, and

                                                [ab.] pour out the vials

[111.] of the wrath of God

                                                                        [aaa.] upon the earth.

The 7 vials of wrath

The first vial of wrath

16:2  And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and

[1] there fell a noisome and grievous sore

[a.] upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and

[b.] [upon] them which worshipped his image.

The second vial of wrath

16:3  And the second angel [messenger] poured out his vial upon the sea; and

[1] it became as the blood of a dead [man]; and

[2] every living soul died in the sea [men are living in the sea].

The third vial of wrath

16:4  And the third angel [messenger] poured out his vial upon

            [1] the rivers and

            [2] [the] fountains of waters;

and they became blood.

16:5  And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord,

            [1] which art,

            [2] and wast,

            [3] and shalt be,

because thou hast judged thus.

16:6  For they [the men of vs. 2] have shed the blood

            [1] of saints and

            [2] [of] prophets, and

thou hast given them blood to drink;

                        [a.] for they are worthy.

16:7  And I heard another out of the altar say,

[1] Even so, Lord God Almighty,

[2] true and righteous [are] thy judgments.

The forth vial of wrath

16:8  And the forth angel [messenger] poured out his vial upon the sun; and

[1] power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

 16:9  And

[2] men were scorched with great heat, and

[3] [men] blasphemed the name of God,

[a.] which hath power over these plagues: and

[4] they repented not to give him glory [God’s purpose for judgment].
