BIBLE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE LAST DAYS

LUKE 21 Pg 3

The second coming of Jesus

21:27  And then [after the signs of Luke 21:25-26] shall they [the generation on the earth which sees these signs shall] see

[1] the Son of man coming

                        [a.] in a cloud

                        [b.] with power and

                        [c.] [with] great glory.

 21:28  And when these things

[1] begin to come to pass [Jews, born again after the Rapture of the Church, shall see the beginning of these things (c/p. vs. 31)],

                        [a.] then look up, and

[b.] lift up your heads; for

[c.] your redemption draweth nigh [the second coming of Jesus to redeem Israel].

The parable of the fig tree

 21:29  And he spake to them a parable;

            [1] Behold

[a.] the fig tree [Israel; c/p. Matt. 24:31, Mark 13:28], and

                        [b.] all the trees [all the other nations of the world];

21:30  [2] When they now shoot forth,

                        [a.] ye see and

[b.] [ye]know of your own selves that

[11.] summer is now nigh at hand.

21:31  So likewise ye,

[1] when ye see these things come to pass [Jesus’ disciples of (Luke 21:7)—or rather His Churchshall see the beginning of these things (c/p. vs. 28)],

[a.] know ye that the kingdom of God [the millennial kingdom of the great king Jesus]

[11.] is nigh at hand.

21:32  Verily I say unto you,

[2] This generation [the generation that sees the signs of vs. 25-26] shall not pass away,

                        [a.] till all be fulfilled.

21:33  [3] Heaven and earth shall pass away: but

[a.] my words shall not pass away.

Jesus admonishes His disciples to both watch and pray

 21:34  And

            [1] take heed to yourselves,

[a.] lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with

                                    [11.] surfeiting, and

                                    [12.] drunkenness, and

[13.] cares of this life, and

                        [b.] [so] that day

[11.] come upon you unawares.

 21:35  For

            [2] as a snare

                        [a.] shall it come

[11.] on all them that dwell

[aa.] on the face of the whole earth.

 21:36  [1] Watch ye therefore (Matt. 24:42; Matt. 25:13; Mark 13:35-37), and

            [2] pray always,

[a.] that ye may be accounted worthy [worthy by the blood of the Lamb]

[11.] to escape all these things [don’t miss the Rapture; and don’t loose your faith when you see the signs of verse 25-26]

[aa.] that shall come to pass, and

                                    [12.] to stand

[ab.] before the Son of man [in the throne room of God (Rev. 7:9)].
